Join Mayor Kevin Faulconer, the Interfaith Shelter Network and San Diego Pride for the Interfaith Shelter Network: LGBTQ Summit, with the goal of reducing LGBTQ homelessness in San Diego, the Summit aims to provide tools for your Congregation to help some of our most vulnerable residents as they work toward permanent housing.

The summit will provide information about how your Congregation can join the Interfaith Shelter Network by opening your doors as part of the Rotational Shelter Program OR Congregants can volunteer to help at other locations while providing LGBTQ & others experiencing shelter instability safe, competent & compassionate services.

Up to 1.6 million people in the United States experience homelessness each year and our LGBTQ population are at greater risk than non-LGBTQ people. In fact it is estimated that 40 percent of homeless youth identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. People within the LGBTQ community face unique challenges when seeking supportive services. With your help, we can create a network of congregations that are welcoming and affirming to the LGBTQ community while providing them a safe place to turn their lives around.
