On January 13, 2018, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) announced it would resume accepting and processing DACA renewals immediately in response to a federal court order. In September, the State appropriated $20 million to provide legal assistance, including application fee assistance, to individuals eligible for DACA renewals. The California Department of Social Services is currently contracting with non-profit legal services organizations, including Jewish Family Service of San Diego, to provide DACA legal services.  Currently, DACA Legal Services Funds remain available through January 31, 2018.

In response to the USCIS announcement and in an effort to take advantage of the narrow timeframe of the remaining days of DLS funding, JFS in partnership with ACLU, will be holding two DACA Renewal Workshops.  The second one is on January 29.

We process both registered attendees and walk-ins.  Interested attendees are encouraged to register and be assessed in advance of the Workshop by calling Rebecca Odelson at 858-637-3024.
