An important evening focused on improving community interactions with law enforcement.
This will be the first in a six-part series called “An Empowered Community Working to Change Police Relations” that will equip the residents of Southeastern San Diego with the knowledge needed to better understand, engage with, and respond to law enforcement. This series is led the religious leaders who are part of the Building Trust Partnership which supports religious leaders in San Diego who are working to improve relationships between community members and law enforcement.
Each of the six sessions in this series will be led by trusted community leaders who are experts on topics including: what to expect during a traffic stop, knowing your rights, the role of different law enforcement agencies in immigration enforcement, and trauma’s effects on our community and how to process it.
